Intervention Approaches

BENJAMIN F. MEJARES III

The school implemented learning interventions to help teachers and students with Most Essentual Learning Competencies (MELCS). Adequate learning materials can supplement, sustain, and enrich the learning process. Because of technological advancements, learning materials are currently being developed. The school implemented learning interventions to help teachers and students with the new normal education.
One of the strategies teachers implement is the use of home-based simulation; this allows students to gain knowledge and experience through hands-on learning. Next is the utilization of DepEd TV, a TV and video-based learning platform that accommodates different learning styles. It produces video lessons that are interactive and engaging. The DepEd TV boosts students' motivation and participation in distance learning. Students can finish homework quickly, leaving time for hobbies as DepEd TV provides meaningful learning opportunities to them. And the most effective way of reaching out to our students is by conducting online classes. At Bungahan Elementary School, teachers could use video conferencing tools like Microsoft Teams and Google Meet. However, parents are concerned about children's health risks from watching too much screen time. A poor internet connection can also lead to a lack of continuity in learning between classes.
The Bungahan Elementary School believed education must continue with no face-to-face classes. Online education should be viewed as a supplement to and augmentation of traditional education. It can be achieved online and other alternative modalities until the pandemic is over.
